Hi Friends,

My heart is breaking this week. I can’t stand how cruel human beings can be to one another. Not just in this news cycle or that one, but all suffering in all forms, plants and animals included. It is overwhelming.

Immersing in the news makes it hard to focus, hard to think, and hard to create—and yet, these are champagne problems of the highest order. Others are living these traumatic realities every single day, and somehow still, miraculously, finding ways to carry on. The world needs heart-based leaders now more than ever, and I appreciate you being here and doing whatever infinitesimal-yet-vital part each of us can.

Now onto this week’s round-up + Plus extra goodies over the paywall rainbow at the end . . .

⚙️ Tips & Tools

Intuition is always speaking to you in subtle ways. Are you listening? Intuition isn’t a gift that is only bestowed on a special few. Everyone can strengthen this muscle, improving how loudly you hear these signals, and trusting yourself to take action on the information you’re receiving.

In a two-part solo episode on building business intuition, Part One and Part Two, I share eleven strategies that have helped me listen to intuition at increasingly subtle levels. Check out the show notes for my favorite resources on how to do this; these books and practices truly changed my life.

Why Revenue Goals Don't Work (For Me)
Abundance was my word of 2019. I’d love to tell you I meant abundance in the broadest possible sense, appreciating the bounty already in my life, financial and otherwise. Maybe I’d sound more enlightened if the intention was to appreciate, on a daily basis, that I had a healthy body! Lungs! A beating heart! Friends and family, a roof over my head, plenty of food to eat, and a new marriage to celebrate after decades of dating disappointments…

💬 Quote

“Superconscious guidance is easy to obtain. It’s available in every moment, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. You must only ask, look, and listen.

If you can’t for some reason recognize a superconscious message inside your own brain, rest assured that the higher powers will use a friend, a rival, a stranger, a license plate on a passing car, a billboard, a song lyric or an actor in a movie to speak your own higher mind to you. Similarly, you may unwittingly be used to speak important messages to others.

Guidance is pouring out of all of us, in everything we say and do. So we must be willing to share and be ever on the alert to notice and respect the ideas of others.”

—Penney Peirce, who just launched her own Substack Becoming Transparent!

💭 Question

How does your intuition speak to you? Consider the four primary “clares”: clairaudience (hearing voices), clairvoyance (seeing images), clairsentience (recognizing feelings), and claircognizance (knowing). Which one comes to you most readily?

As always, I would love to hear from you: How do you practice following your intuition? Leave a voice note for a future listener-submission episode at http://itsfreetime.com/ask.

📝 Permission

Trust your intuitive hits, even if you do not have a verbal or rational explanation (yet!) to validate the “memos” or make sense of your insights.
